What is a classic car in the state of Louisiana?

Louisiana’s classic car insurance criteria
You, as the classic car owner, must meet the following criteria in order to be eligible for antique license plates in Louisiana:
- The classic car must be at least 25 model years old
- The classic car must be registered in the name of the applicant
- The insured vehicle can be any car, van, truck, or motorhome weighing no more than 16,000 lbs
Classic Car Insurance Ontario Requirements
According to GetJerrry.com, if you are applying for Louisiana antique plates, there are also the following requirements:
- Submit a Personalized License Plate Application along with a current, color photograph of the vehicle.
- Submit a notarized affidavit attesting to the fact that the vehicle has not and will not be modified from the original manufacturer’s model, and it will be only used for exhibitions, parades, club activities, and public interest purposes, as well as any necessary maintenance, testing, and storage purposes.
- If you have membership in an antique car club, provide proof of that.
- If the vehicle is not in the applicant’s name, include the relevant title and fees along with the plate request.
- If a classic car with Louisiana antique plates is sold, the antique plates can remain with the car under new owners. Antique plates can also be transferred to another antique or classic car in the applicant’s name, so long as the new vehicle is deemed eligible to carry antique plates.
What coverage is mandatory in Louisiana?
In Louisiana, the minimum coverage mandatory by Louisiana’s law for a classic car includes:
- $15,000 bodily injury liability coverage per person
- $30,000 bodily injury liability coverage per accident
- $25,000 Property damage liability coverage
