What is a Classic car?

According to The Classic Car Club of America, “a classic car is ‘Fine’ or ‘Distinctive’ automobile, American or foreign built, produced only between 1915 and 1948.”

Besides that, a Classic should be an expensive, top-end vehicle when it was new and limited units were built. None of the mass-produced vehicle lines are considered Classics.

Other factors that help determine a car is a Classic include:

  • Higher engine displacement.
  • Custom bespoke coachwork and luxury accessories.
  • Mechanical developments. Such as brakes, clutch, and one-shot or automatic lubrication systems.

You should know that some specific models of the following vehicles are classified as Classic vehicles because of the reasons we just mentioned.

So, double-check the list we provided here in this article to see if the car or marque you have your eye on or own is accepted as a Full Classic car.

Application may be made for Full Classic consideration by applying to the National CCCA Classification committee.
