In the United States, each states have different minimum insurance limits for auto liability, but the maximum coverage is up to $1 million or $2,000,000 depending on the jurisdiction of rental.
When and where does Supplemental Liability Insurance coverage apply?
Supplemental Liability Insurance apply while you are driving the rental car within the United States and Canada with a rental vehicle that was rented in the USA.
*Coverage does not apply in Mexico.
Do I Need Supplemental Liability Insurance?
In countries such as the USA and Canada, minimum third-party liability insurance is required by law. You will usually be offered SLI by the car rental company.
